5-FU

Doctor wants to start me on 5-FU with advastin next week. Any one else try this combination before and if so what can I expect.

No one replied to your inquiry.  I start this series next week, along with Herceptin.  What can I expect???

Hi! I was surprised no one did respond.

 Along with the 5-fu, avastin they also are giving me mitoxantrone (novantrone) and Leucovorin calcium. The first treatment went from 10-3, the next two days were 2 hours at that was without the avastin and mitoxantrone.

You will pee a real pretty BLUE, also felt sick to my stomach but never got sick.........ate crackers for 3 days. Have sores in my throat and tongue....oh make sure before they give you the 5-fu push that they also give you ice to protect your throat. They forgot on day 2 so that is why I am having sores. Felt pretty bad for a week but I still went to work every day except for the 10-3 day. I deliver mail so my job is hard work. Go back on the 17/18/19 for my next treatment.

 Hope your treatment went well. Have to say the first week was awful but finally some thing is working and I am looking forward to my next treatments on the 17,18,19. Please let me know how you are doing. Sue
