coping with loss

Thank you to all who sent messages of encouragement to me during my father's illness.  He lost his battle on January 13, 2009, two days before his 66 birthday.  He survived for six courageous weeks after his diagnosis of stage IV stomach cancer. I am so thankful that he did not have to suffer longer than he did, but am still trying to grasp what has happened.

I send prayers and peace to all who are battling this terrible disease and those who are dealing with it's aftermath.

God bless.

Gina

I am sorry for your loss.  I am thankful for you sharing your experience with us as each one helps so many others make difficult decisions.  The passing of your father is sad and the thoughts, support, and prayers of my family are with you and those that you love during this difficult time in your lives.

Gina,

My sincerest condolences to you and your family on the loss of your Father. I do take great comfort though from the fact that he did not suffer in pain.

Treat yourselves well, and cherish the memories of the life you had with your Dad, what a treasure.

In sympathy...... Scott

Dear Gina,

I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your father and I am glad to hear that he did not suffer for very long and am sure that he is in a better place and at peace.  May you also find peace and strength to move on with your life.  I wish you the very best that life has to offer.

God bless,

Lila.

Dear Gina,

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your dad.  I lost my wonderful husband to stomach cancer February 22, 2008 after a three-year battle with stage IV.  He was a hero as I am sure your dad was.  Rest assured that you will see your dad someday - that's what gets me through each and every day of my life.  We will be reunited.

God bless you,

Diane, Mike's wife
