wondering...

so i went to the emergency room a few days ago. I woke up with stabbing pains in my left lower back with nausea and vomiting. They thought i had kidney stones. the CT scan showed no stones, but it did show that my left ovary is more prominate than the right. I have an ultrasound on monday, they said it might be a cyst. being the hypocondriac that i am, i'm worried about cancer. what are my chances of it being cancerous?

It's natural to be concerned that this could be cancer, but ovarian cysts can indeed be very painful and bothersome - so this very well could be a cyst. Monday may seem like a long time away, but it's really not.  Find something on which to focus your attention until your appt on Monday - maybe pick a project you've been putting off and get it done, if your level of pain will allow you to do so.  Also, take at least a little time and do something fun, especially something that makes you laughter.  Laughter is wonderful healing medicine as well as stress relief.

Also, make a list of any questions you have for Monday, and take that list with you - make sure you get your questions answered.

Wishing you the best, and hoping for a good report from you next week!

Sincerely,

Tre

Don't over-think this. I know that's hard but they knew 'immediately' that I had cancer when I had my CT. As suggested, take a list of questions with you to help calm any worries or concerns you may have.
