Hi all

My husband David, had kidney removed 12 08, has under gone immuno-therapy, 4 months of chemo, about 6 cystos, during last one 1 tiny tumor was removed from his bladder. He then, 2 weeks ago, had his 1st PET scan..which according to the oncologist "shows no sign of cancer"He is off the chemo "for now"

Now back at the urologist for more immuno therapy treatments (6) . next week appointment with oncologist and in 3 months another PET scan.

I feel like this should be all in all good news...but there is still that fear.......David feels very good about it. We understand it can always re-occur.  But is it "safe" to feel good now  ???

Thanks for any input

Sandy and David

Yes, it is a good idea to feel happy!

Only time will tell if it was "safe", but what is the down-side?  He should keep on the maintenance doses of the BCG (I assume that is the immunotherapy treatment) after the initial 6 weeks.   It's the best thing to prevent reoccurence but it needs to be kept up at 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, etc.  His uro will have the schedule.  See Dr. Lamm's research on BCG.

Best of luck!

Thanks for listening !  David is indeed back on his BCG treatment for the next 6 weeks.  It sure is a lot easier than chemo for him.

Are you a bladder cancer survivor ?  Regardless of the type its wonderful to hear from you.
