I don't suppose there is anyone out there that has had the chemo not work for them and if there is, what other alternative options (if any) are there?

I'm in the same boat.  I'm stage IV and none of the chemos are working anymore.  I tried radiation for the large, very painful tumor on my chest, but all it did was make it terribly painful for me to swallow, seven months later.

I don't want to discourage you, but I decided to go with home hospice.  The people are wonderful.  They don't try to cure you, but instead, make your time left as comfortable as possible.  Medicare pays for everything, even your meds.  There have been people who were told they were about to die who surprised everyone and survived.  So don't give up, ever!

Hi Terry, and thank you for the encouraging words.  You are so right about staying with a good diet.  As soon as I was told I was "terminal," I adopted the "well, might as well enjoy my last few months:" attitude and haven't been consuming a very healthy diet.  I'm a sugar addict.  I live for chocolate cake.  But it really helps me to know that there are people out there in the same coat.

Notfair,  Hey keep hope alive.  Yes it is hard to ignore what the doctor says but believe they are sometimeswrong.  I have switch my wife to all organic food no red meat or pork.  No sugar.  It is your will to fight and make changes.  I also have been given her some of the supps here mention and by her electrolyte water.  Also have her on b17.  We also do alot of blending of veggies and fruits.  Green drink to help her blood count 3 times a day and fruit drink (mostly berries with the seeds) 2 times a day, to help fight the cancer.  I didn't think diet was all that important but to see how my wife is functioning is incredible.  She has stage iv rcc with mets to brain lung and a lg mass on the kidney.  I tell her we must keep a positive attitude for that will also release good hormones into the body.  Also I am doing research an alkaline water which is said to help recop the ph balance in the body an destroy the cancer.  Not sure if anyone heard of this.  I hope this helps.  Stay strong!  You are in are prayers.
