Hi,

I found out I had stage 3 overian cancer last year at this time. I had my overies removed and 6 rounds of chemo, my markers kept going up , so now I am on Doxil with some success. Now I have fluid building up in the sack around my lung. I have to have it drained about ever 3 weeks, has anyone had this happen to them. Would really appreciate hearing from anyone !!!

I am new to this and need help!!!!

Hi Dear-...so sorry you have to go through this. I had fluid in my abdomen from the Ovarian/Peritoneal. Removal helped me be more comfortable but the fluid there also irritated the diaphragm and made fluid around the lungs next. I did have it drained twice (interesting procedure, huh?) Do you still have fluid in the abdomen? Or did you ever?Draining my fluid allowed them to make my diagnosis more sure. There were no cells in the lung area fluid. Stay Strong,

My sister had fluid in her lungs and they treated her with Lasix. It definitely helped her breath easier, although it did lower her blood pressure and made her feel weak. She just took a lower dose and that helped. Good luck.

Thank you so much for the information, I am going to talk to my Doctor about it.  Is your sister still taking chemo and has the fluid dried up?

I feel so hopeless sometimes, thank you again!!!
