From Anna,

Hi all, A while back I posted about my friend who has Ovarian Cancer.  She sent me an email that said the following?

confirmed that the fluid, or ascites around the liver and spleen is probably cancer,

Does this mean her cancer has spead?  They saw some fluid the last time they did tests.  This was the results.

Your friend,

Anna

Hi,

I have fluid in the sack around my lung, my doctor told me, it was the cancer cells that caused the fluid to form, I have to have it drained off about every three weeks. I am on Doxil now, have had some success !!!!

Fluid (ascites) in my belly is what sent me to the ER in the first place - how they discovered I had cancer! Fluid is something the doctor has told me to watch for as it will mean a recurrence of cancer. So my answer would be Yes - it's spread. I'm so sorry for both your friend and you - give her all the support and love you can.

Blessings, LindaMae

 From Anna,

Hi LindaMae, I was afraid you were going to say that.  She sounded real upbeat in the email I got and didn't say it had spread but I sort of read between the lines if you know what I mean by what she said that I put here.  She only has two more treatments to go in the round of six.  Do you think they'll do more later? Thanks for the answer even though I was hoping it wasn't what I thought.

I know about cancer but not this one.  My Dad has had Multiple Myeloma for almost 11 years.  That's a cancer of the blood and bones.

Your friend,

Anna

Gee Anna, I assumed your friend had already 'finished' her chemos and we were talking about 'recurrence' here. I guess my own worries reared their ugly little heads!

Sweetie, don't read between the lines - just come out and ASK her what it all means! Don't be afraid to, and get her to explain everything to you. It will probably help her too!

Sorry to hear that your Dad is also going thru this terrible cancer battle.

Blessings, LindaMae XOXO

Anna,

Yesterday there was a story on TV about liver cancer.  They have a new procedure where they infuse the liver with chemo then remove it so it doesn't go into the rest of the body.  So far it appears to be working.  I don't know what it is called, but a little research on it would be good.

I agree with Linda Mae, ask questions. They are coming up with new chemo all the time, so there is hope for a cure some day.

My best to your friend.
