HI everyone.I'm new to this message board. Nov.07 I found out that my pap came back abnormal. I had a biopsy done and that came back that I had atypical glandular cells. My Dr. called it sever dysplasia. I had to have all kinds of boipsy's to make sure it had not spread. They found it was just on my cervix and on Feb.28 2008 I had the LEEP done. I was also told it was hpv causing it. I had a repap done July of 08 and that came back normal. Then I had a 2nd repap Jan.09, this one came back that I once again have the atypical glandular cells again. I have to go to the Dr. next week to talk about treatment again. My question is what now,Do I get the boipsy again ,then the LEEP again. What should I be asking my dr. this time around. I thought after having the LEEP I would be ok. I don't know what to thing anymore. Thanks for any info.

I'm glad your doctor was so thorough, but I honestly think you need to make an appointment with a GYN/ONC. Please understand I'm not trying to scare you. But if you have glandular involvement, somebody else should further assess you to find out why it has shown up on your PAP smear, again. Considering your history, did the doctor also do an ECC, during the follow-up PAP smear?

In addition, insist on getting an HPV DNA test. Roche has one, called AMPLICOR. It will tell you which strain(s) you have. If it's one of the more aggressive strains, you can use this information to create a plan to boost your immune system. I can give you links if you want them, as there are a number of women who have done that. The tricky part is that insurance companies don't want to pay for it. So, your doctor may not have it. Or, the doctor can only do it if you know about it and ask for it. Or, you may have to go to a teaching hospital. Another option is to call one of the labs and ask them which HPV DNA tests they use. Then you can call the company directly to have it delivered. Bear in mind, it could cost money. But for me, it was worth having it done. (The doctor was associated with a teaching hospital, but I had to ask for it.)

Hi Herenow, I went to the Dr. on Monday .We talked for like an hour. She has consulted a gynecologic oncology Dr. He Told her that I should have a procedure were they have to do a D&C and then go in with a camera . To found out what is going on. I will be put under for this procedure and I can go home after couple of hours. I was scared ,but I need to know if this is cancer .If it is then I need to take care of it. I have3 kids to take care of. I will see if they can do the Hvp /dna test this time around to see what type I have. She also told me that the repap came back Atypical Glandular Cells that is CIII. I took that is not being good. She also told me that this time it didn't come back with the serve dysplasia that I had before. I know when they did my LEEP they found lesion on my cervix. So I thing I'm handling this ok. I stay strange for my kids. I'm only 34. Thanks for the Info.
