Hi. I am new here and would be glad if you could help me find the answers I have been looking (wanting) to hear. I am on my 30's and was diagnosed with mild dysplasia, HPV,CIN II last 2000. My first gyn didn't treat me eventhough I insisted. After about 6 months I went to different gyn and he was surprised that my first gyn did not do anything about it. Anyway, May 2001, I had cryotherapy. Went for follow up after 3 months then the next month because I was having vaginal discharge, the pap result came back normal, but NOT until last 2005. I was diagnosed with HSV 2 (genital herpes), that I thought the discharge was one of the symptoms. I was very upset and frustrated until now. About every 6 weeks, I get it and I have to be on valtrex for 7-10 days.
My concerns are: I asked my family doc what are the chances of getting a cancer and he answered me: "Hepes doesn't cause cancer, but HPV does but when you get "older" . What does this mean? I was shocked on his answer that I couldn't find any single words to say. Since he is my family doc, he does perform the pap smear for me, which I do not mind. What is really my chances to get a cervical cancer? I know I had the cryotherapy (2001) and all my tests came back normal after, EXCEPT for the HSV 2. I have been in monogamous relationship since I had the teatment in 2001 but how come he doesn't have any symptoms of my diseases?
Please help!
