My husband has renal cell carcanoma that has spread to his lymph nodes in his chest, left sholder and right hip. He is on Sorafenib and has taken it for 6 wks. His last CT scan wasn't very encouraging, as most of the tumors had increased in size, however, some smaller ones had decreased a little. He had radiation on his hip and sholder which has left in a lot of pain and has trouble walking and using his arm. I have been wondering what time frame if any we will see any improvement. An aquaintence of ours that lives in CA was on Sutent for almost a year and her tumors had decreased quite a bit but she passed away a couple of weeks ago from fluid building up in her body that eventually filled her lungs and killed her.
