HPV (Mild Dysplasia, CIN II); Herpes 2

Hi. I am new here and would be glad if you could help me find the answers I have been looking (wanting) to hear. I am on my 30's and was diagnosed with mild dysplasia, HPV,CIN II last 2000. My first gyn didn't treat me eventhough I insisted. After about 6 months I went to different gyn and he was surprised that my first gyn did not do anything about it. Anyway, May 2001, I had cryotherapy. Went for follow up after 3 months then the next month because I was having vaginal discharge, the pap result came back normal, but NOT until last 2005. I was diagnosed with HSV 2 (genital herpes), that I thought the discharge was one of the symptoms. I was very upset and frustrated until now. About every 6 weeks, I get it and I have to be on valtrex for 7-10 days.
My concerns are: I asked my family doc what are the chances of getting a cancer and he answered me: "Hepes doesn't cause cancer, but HPV does but when you get "older" . What does this mean? I was shocked on his answer that I couldn't find any single words to say. Since he is my family doc, he does perform the pap smear for me, which I do not mind. What is really my chances to get a cervical cancer? I know I had the cryotherapy (2001) and all my tests came back normal after, EXCEPT for the HSV 2. I have been in monogamous relationship since I had the teatment in 2001 but how come he doesn't have any symptoms of my diseases?

Please help!

HPV is a rather common STD.  The estimate is that 75% of adults will have it at some point in their lives, yet cervival cancer is rather rare so MOST women with HPV infections do not get cervical cancer.  You should continue regular checkups so any changes can be caught early and treated.  HPV causes no symptoms in most men.

HSV is a different virus that does not cause cancer.

You can take L-Lysine for the HSV 2. It's an antisviral supplement s find it in vitamin section. I take one daily and I never have outbreaks anymore. I got the symptoms that one was coming on during my pregnancy and I started taking 5 pills 4 times that day and the outbreak stopped.
