It is for advanced unresectable liver cancer. Go to their website- I believe it's on there. You need to do a series of tests to qualify and then go weekly for bloodwork and occasional CT scans. It runs in 6week cycles and you take the pill on a daily basis. I'll post more once we get started on it. We are suppose to start Fri. 2/13. AndyH Wed, 11 Feb 2009 00:00:00 GMT My father will hopefully be starting on a clinical trial this Friday taking a pill called RAD001. We are seeing an oncologist in Boston, MA. We actually had an appointment a few weeks ago to start and my father got sick and we had to postpone. He was having stomach troubles and now is on prilosec. Any information on this medication would be great. I guess it has shown promising results in other type of cancers but they don't know how it will work for the liver cancer. Surgery is not an option because there are tumors scattered throughout the liver. They may try chemoembolization but would rather not because it can also kill healthy cells and make things worse. I hope nothing stops us from this coming appointment. We've been seeing doctors since March 08 and no treatment started yet. Thanks for any info or side effects on this pill. I'm just wondering what to expect. They gave us a packet that tells alot about the pill but I'd love to hear from people that have had experience with it.
