Hello,

My Dad was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer in 2005.  He has had several treatments of chemo since 2005 and had cobra for the last 18 months.

Now that his cobra is expired we are looking at getting the best possible insurance that will cover his chemo.  The cancer has now spread to his lungs.  Is anybody from California and satisfied with their health insurance.

He is eligible for a Medicare plan but everything I have looked into so far states that he will be responsible for 33% of the drug costs (which we will expect to be very significant).

Thanks for any info you can provide.

Be careful when you purchase the new insurance.  Be sure there is no clause for pre-existing conditions because if there is, they won't pay for anything related to the cancer for a given period of time which varies between companies.
