Anyone with similar problems?

This is all so new to us.  My husband is 75 and was diagnosed with stage IV stomach cancer on Jan 14, 09.  He has had one chemo session...just last Wed.  We went to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN with a referral from our GI doctor, two days after diagnosis.. They ran a series of 6 tests, and treated us like we were family.  They are really wonderful, caring people. They then sent us back home to Illinois with a referral to an Oncologist at the Illinois Cancer Care.   Our problem so far, is that he cannot have surgery, mostly due to the fact that he had a heart attack on Dec 10th and received a pace-maker.  His heart is very weak. Also, the tumor is coverning about 80% of his stomach.  The most recent PT scan shows that a spot of his liver did not light up, but a small lesion on his lung did.  Until we have another consultation with the Oncologist, I'm not sure if the nurse reading that off of a piece of paper is accurate.  So he is now receiving a chemo combination of Oxaliplatin, Leucovorin and 5FU.  I know nothing about these drugs, although the nurse did give me a detailed 'teaching' session.  He was sent home with a 5FU pump which will be disconnected today.  Then another treatement in 2 weeks.  Does anyone out there have any similar situation with the age and heart problem?  He is active, no side effects so far except tingling in hands if they get cold, and his attitude is great!  Thanks for any help.

My father just turned 76 , has been diagnosed with Stage IV stomach cancer and is also on the same regiment. I have been told that this chemo treatment is better for older patients.
