just looking for advise

I am new to this message board but have been on the thyroid cancer message board for two years.  i am almost 47 years old.  in 2006 went through thyroid cancer.  last week mamogram and ultrasound found nodules on left breast.  dr. is putting together a game plan and will call next week.  my concern is my sister, now 57, had breast cancer exactly ten years ago.  hoping this is just a wake up call and no more.

wondering if anyone else out there had thyroid cancer prior to breast cancer because i hear there is a corralation?

any advise to ask dr. for any special tests, etc.?

check out the message with title "Breast Cancer And Thyroid Cancer" from January 23. Terriet and ptjen have some information you might find interesting including links to other web sites. It appears the link is the treatment of thyroid with the subsequent bc.

Thank you for the advise.  I looked at the 1-23 date and it sounds alarming.  i also was diagnosed with fibromylagia and dr.'s have thought for years i must have an auto immune problem.  now this breast issue.  can't wait to hear from my dr. in the next couple days.  want to be checked more.

for me just consult your doctor.. I don't have any idea about that but i have my auntier who had also same as your condition she always go to her doctor and follow ehat his doctor say.Now shes quite ok..
