Latest messages for CancerCompass discussion http://www.cancercompass.com/message-board/message/all,33278,0.htm Tue, 24 Nov 2009 00:00:00 GMT Tue, 24 Nov 2009 00:00:00 GMT http://backend.userland.com/rss RSS.NET: http://www.rssdotnet.com/ Hello to every one.I would like to say to every one that has lost a loved one to any cancers that my heart go's out to  you.I myself have terminal cancer.It started in may of 08 with a collapsed  bile duct that made me go jonduce and with in 6 days I was in the hospital where they  put a stint in to open up the bile duct which worked for me but over the course of about 2 1/2 months and 3 more trips for those  tub camera tests they sent me to see a specialist surgeon on July 28 th which was my birthday and was told that I had Pancreatic cancer and would need surgery to remove it so after a long talk  the date ended up being Sept 2 nd.Well after they got in there the doctors found out that my Pancreas was ok and the real place was where the camera could not go.The cancer had come out  though the wall of the bile duct and had raped around the main nerve cord and the artery  that feeds blood to the liver and rooted it self so it could not be removed ,At that time I was given  3 to 12 months to live.I had started to drink a herbal tea about 12 days before the surgery and after the surgery up till Nov 30 th,which as of Dec 1 st /08 I started a experimental chemo treatment with 2 drugs called Gemcitabine & Capecitabine.Before I stopped drinking the tea they did a  CT scan and I was told that my cancer had not yet started to spread that it was still as far as they could tell right where they had found it and all my organs were doing good to.Well on Feb 17 th / 09 I will be going for my 12 week scan and will find out if these chemo drugs have helped in any way,I hope that they in some way have.By the way Feb make 6 months for me I'm hope I make it till at least Sept, for on the Aug 1,2,3 there is a family reunion for my moms side of the family and its a first so one big wish I have is to make it.Also since Sept 2nd I had to stop work but was lucky to be able to receive my disability pension from the fed gov, and also a provincial disability payment along with all my medical payed for Which is a great help.I would just like to say that I'm sorry to hear how fast other peoples loved ones past away.At this time I have my daughter who is going to be 9 years old on March 13 /09 living with me so we may spend as much time as possible together and it gives me the incentive to get my butt out of bed in the morning and get other things done around here..Well my best to all and good night   Richard Gust, PS,, I live in Alberta Canada. rfg321 Tue, 17 Feb 2009 00:00:00 GMT
