Good News!

I am five years post treatment for Stage 4a SCC in my neck with unknown origin.  My treatment consisted of a radical neck dissection followed by nine weeks of chemo (Cisplatin and Taxol) once a week concurrent with ten weeks of daily radiation.

Last Friday I had my annual PET scan and got my results yesterday.  Everything was clear - no activity found.  My ENT doc says that I can look forward to a long and happy life.

I know many of you feel like there is little hope and that the future looks bleak.  I was there, too.  Just realize that after all the treatments are complete, things will be better and that there is always hope.  Just hang in there and never give up.

Congratulations, Glenn!

I'm 15 months out of TX , and so far still clean.

Those of you who are that far out and still clean ( and posting here) are a big boost to the rest of us. You show that it can be done.

Best wishes,

Mike

That is awesome!  What an inspiration to the rest of us and most importantly, it presents us with hope.  My husband is about 9 months out from treatments for SCC also stage IV, and clean so far, so seeing your sucess gives me confidance that my husband can continue to have clean and clear scans.
