I have written before about my husbands rcc. His 1st round of sutent was at 50 mg and his 2nd has been at 37.5 He had 2 weeks off between round 1&2 but found out this week he will not  get any time off this time. He will stay on 37.5 continously. Has anyone done this? Do the side affects get worse, better or stay the same? He has his 1st ct since starting sutent next month so hoping the tumor in the lungs have shrunk!! Anyone on sutent let us know how you are doing and maybe what to expect although we know everyone is different.

Thanks Sherri

My husband, Big John, has been on Sutent 50 mg for almost two years now. Originally on the usual four weeks on/two weeks off regimen, he was changed to 2 days on/1 day off about 6 months ago.  His side effects dimished considerably as a result.

His renal cancer had spread to his lungs prior to the Sutent.  After the first round, the tumors had shrunk considerably.  Before the year was over, they had virtually disappeared.  He has one microscopic spot that has been stable for over 6 months now.  His dosage of Sutent was just reduced to 37.5.

My hope for you and your husband is that the Sutent produces the positive results as it has for us.  Keep the faith, stay positive, and hang in there.   Dianna B

Joe husband of Mary Mazerolle has been on 37.5 contiuously for ages now and is doing well, he found that it helps with his symptoms. He is stable and okay. Its always a question of what the Onc thinks is best for the individual no two people are the same. I have been on 50mg for two years with 4 on 2 off.

Hi Dianna,  I am glad Big John is doing well.  I am still in immunotherapy,,first xray said partial response, so this therapy may still work.  I just like keeping up on how Sutent is doing.  And for John, it looks like it's been awesome!  Please keep me/us updated.

god bless, Bryan
