Yes the whle of my famil!!!
Manuka honey - has anti cancer benefits and any anti oxidant foods such as blueberries, tomatoe, red broccoli, cauliflower etc as far as my Onc says (and people differ in their views) thereis no evidence that vitamins help but they cant harm. However lots of people take vitamins and swear by the benefits.

These are the foods I found on the web that have anti cancer and anti tumor effect. Some inhibit spread, others are claimed to cause apoptosis (cancer cell death). I guess in a nut shell, more fruits and vegetables, less processed foods. The list is:

Salmon, extra virgin olive oil, walnut, broccoli, blueberries, grapes, banana, cabbage, brussel sprouts, cauliflower, spinach, apple, green tea, avocado, tumeric, yogurt, dark chocolate.

If anyone has more to add, I would be grateful to see it.

Tomatoes I have seen conflicting reports on, Reishi mushrooms may interfer with my targeted medicine. Vitamin C, I am not sure about. I guess, the goal is to eat healthy if you can tolerate these foods.

I have a family member with cancer. I’ve done quite a lot of reading on what to eat.

I have her on a 100% organic diet. No dairy, no red meat, no refined sugar, (very little sugar of any kind) no processed foods. Avoid tap water at all costs – the chlorine and fluoride are lethal. Most ocean fish are too filled with mercury to be nutritious.

Juicing and blending are an excellent way to best absorb these desperately needed nutrients. Many of the vegetables mentioned in the last post are excellent.

They make some very powerful blenders out there for 300 – 500 dollars that allow you to blend nutritious vegetable juices as well as soups and many other foods. The Vita-mix 5200 is a very useful tool. If you juice with a regular centrifugal juicer you miss much of the nutrients. Wash all produce like it was covered in poison.

I also have my family member on a slew of vitamin supplements that some onc docs may not approve of. She doesn’t take chemo or radiation. Everything from vitamin C to digestive enzymes. We are currently cleansing internal organs beginning with the Colon.

Best thing to do is educated yourself as fast as you can. There are many resources out there that discuss health and nutrition especially as it relates to cancer.

Hi Krys Here is a link re nutrition which I find helpful...... http://www.pubmedcentral.nih.gov/articlerender.fcgi?artid=52 .............As for vitamin C, there is a great deal of evidence that intravenous vitamin C treatments are very effective against most cancers. I credit them, along with diet, supplements and some lifestyle changes with returning me to good health after being diagnosed with non Hodgkin's in early 2004. There are other cancer patients that I know personally who have also been successfully treated for their various cancers using this protocol. Here are a couple of links for you to have a look at and if you'd like more information please feel free to send me a private message......http://www.orthomolecular.org/resources/omns/v04n19.shtml ................. http://intravenousvitaminc.blogspot.com/ .............http://www.medpagetoday.com/HematologyOncology/OtherCancers/ .............................. Best of luck to everyone! _____________________________________________________________

Hi Shemay:

Excellent links. Thnak you. I will have to add Flax seed (not the oil) and and Scallions (garlic too stinky to be eaten everyday) to the list of anti-cancer foods.

I am still unsure of the supplements however. Also I did notice one of the articles was funded by the Hallelujah acres foundation which I assume promotes the Hallelujah diet. I am unsure how impartial the article is, but it is very informative non the less.

Yes I have heard of IV Vitamin C doing some good, but in a high dose that can not be achieved with oral. To my understanding the oral dose is not effective.

Hi again Krys I take my garlic in pill form. Each tablet contains 100mg of evidence based garlic powder which is equivalent to 300mg of whole garlic. No smell..... :0) ............... You are correct about regular oral vitamin C but the lypo-spheric form is highly recommended by my medical/alternative doctor. Here's a link to a four part video by Dr. Thomas Levy regarding this which I think you'll find very interesting. Skip past the first video...which is just about fortified cereal........... http://www.tomlevymd.com/video/video.html ............I understand your comment about the connection to the Hallelujah Acres Foundation. I use this link because the recommendations are close to the Regimen that was given to me when I was first diagnosed which is too lengthy to re post here. I am glad to send it privately though if you are interested......Sheila ______________________________________________________________

All the advice about eating healthy foods is great if you can eat them. My Dr recommended eating anything I wanted and as much as possible to keep my weight from dropping. Many of the RCC treatments like Sutent and Torisel make eating very hard. With the mouth sores and altered taste, its very hard to get enough calories to keep from losing weight. Try to eat healthy but make sure you are getting enough calories to not lose much needed weight. I have always tried to follow a health diet but with a Stage 4 cancer I am not going to obsess over evey bit of sugar and fat.
