Leukemia, not CML but CMML

My mother was just diagnosed with not CML but CMML. Is there any information that you can share with me? I have been doing research on the internet and want to make sure the information I found was reputable. She is 81 and not in good health. The doctor is not treating her at this time, and I do not get the feeling they will treat this type of Leukemia because of her age. I think they are just going to treat symptoms as they come up.

Hi, I am a 65 year old female and was told I have CMML 18 months ago. Also that there was no cure (other than a bone marrow transplant, and that only if you are young enough) I am still symptom free, but of course, feel very vulnerable. If your Mum is symptom free, then they will probably just monitor her blood counts, and hope she remains stable. The biggest worry is that it may become acute (30% of cases do). If it becomes acute there are a few drug treatments available, but no cure. As your Mum is 81she could continue without treatment and feeling fine for quite some years. Remember, the longer you are stable, the better the prognosis.

Encourage her to meditate. Check all the other cancer sitesd for things she can do to stay healthy. There are lots of natural supplements, but that is up to her.

All the best,

Wen

Be sure to put her on the cancer diet put out by John Hopkins Hospital (Google it in to find it.).  It is mostly no sugar (makes the body acidic and feeds the cancer cells), no junk or processed food, no dairy or meat products, no coffee (very acidic), drink green tea (neutralizes acid), exercise (cancer cells are anearobic and hate oxygen), and no plastic in the microwave.

Being on this diet has cooled me, got rid of my fever, gave me more energy, and has made my brain work better.  My diabetes likes it also.  I refused chemotherapy in the fact I am too weak to even consider it.  I enjoy my fresh fruits and vegetables.  The vegetable I find most effective is kale.although cabbage, broccoli, brussel sprouts, and leeks are on the cancer list.  The fruits most effective are bananas, cranberries, and black raspberries.  But eating fruits and vegetables in general makes the cancer fruits and vegetables more effective.

Hello. I have been diagnosed with CMML. I am 51 and was never sick until now. The research that I have done on this rare Leukemia is that it is caused from exposure to radiation or contamiation. I worked for an oil/gas company for 11 years and was exposed to these things on a daily basis. I am looking for other people.
