my dad was dx'd w/ stomach cancer in April 2008 - almost a year ago at which time my family was completely devastated. he did the chemo regimen (6 rounds  of Folfox) prior to surgery, then had a total gastrectomy in Sept, one month off, then 6 more rounds of Folfox which just ended 3 weeks ago. he just had his first scan since his last chemo treatment and he is completely cancer free!!!!  this whole experience has brought out family and friends closer and through prayer, God provided a miracle right before our eyes. just wanted to share with you all to let you know that there is hope. keep praying and fighting!

Praise the Lord for your good results!!!

Did you dad receive a PET/CT Scan? Just curious since our insurance had originally denied the doctor's request for one, but after we appealed it was overturned and the reviewer said it was the best detection mechanism.

praise the Lord indeed and my thoughts are prayers are with everyone else who may be temporarily suffering from this disease on this blog. my dad received a CT scan which insurance approved. i believe the next scan is not for another 3 months, then 6 months out, then 1 whole year...yikes!
