Papillary carcinoma was found, and that's the recommendation of the doctors. Since some of you have personally gone through this, I'd like to ask a few questions. How big is the scar they leave? How long will I be needing to rest after surgery? Can I return to work the next day? Next week? Will I need a neck immobilizer after the surgery? The radiation I'll receive after the surgery, is this similar to the thyroid treatment radiation that can make me 'radioactive,' where I can't share towels or sleep next to someone?
