Not sure where to begin .I guess the beginning several years ago I had my first abnormal pap was referred for a colposcopy however no insurance so I did not follow up ......Feb 17th 2009 I went for my first pap since it wasabnormal and the doctor wanted me in asap for a colposcopy they schduled me immediately for the next day . That was March 4, 2009.

It was very uncomfortable she imediately saw lesions and took a couple of biopsies first was at 12 and another was at 10 she then did the ECC and had me get dressed and called my husband and I into her office. Where she informed us I would need the LEEP possibly cone and said moderate to severe dysplasia HGSIL . SO I of coarse am n shock all is happening so fast should I worry that biopsies will be cancer ? As the Doctor said I will be having LEEP possibly cone depending on biopsies/

It's time for you to take some control of the situation and learn as much as you can. Your fear stems from not knowing what to expect next and while I'm not a doctor, I'm sure you are fine and if something is found, it's better to address it now than later. In doing research for myself as of late I found something that I wish I had seen years ago that you might find helpful. Understanding Cervical Changes: A Health Guide for Women http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/wyntk/cervix

Please be good to yourself. Do your research and ask all the questions you need to of your doctor, it will make you feel MUCH better.

Best regards.

Please don't let your doctor bully you with scare tactics into surgery. She should be educating you, first, so that you not only know exactly what you have but what all of your treatment options are. You might also want to get another doctor, considering what she just did to you. She knows if you are frightened, you will be easily manipulated, and no doctor should do that. Part of protecting your life is to educate you so that you can make the most informed decisions possible.

1. Look at the lab report. That is your first step in educating yourself. Aside from that, even though it's scary to look at the lab report, it's also very empowering because it gets you actively involved in what is best. It helps you feel less helpelss. Knowledge is power!

2. Get a thorough explanation of what you have, where it's located, how many cervical quadrants are involved, if it's in the endocervical canal, and if it's in the endocervical glands. That will determine which treatment option is appropriate for you.

3. Get a complete discussion of all of your treatment options - cryosurgery, laser, LEEP, and cold knife cone biopsy. Your doctor was required to do that, anyway, before recommending LEEP. Even if her recommendation is correct, you need to know beyond a shadow of a doubt by being educated.

If she balks, that will be your first clue that she needs to be fired and a new doctor hired. Obviously, you do need to act soon rather than later, but your body is too precious to be rushed before you know whether or not it's appropriate.

There are also women who have either used alternative treatment to clear up HPV-caused infections or have used in conjunction with traditional treatment. But they educated themselves, first, before making a decision. If you need the links, please don't hesitate to ask. But I am truly sorry your doctor upset you so much.
