Sedatives For C.c Treatment??

I have recently been diagnosed with cin1 pre-cancerous cells which need to be removed through the process of freezing the cervix with nitrogen. my doctor says the treatment is common and shouldnt hurt. i always feel a lot of discomfort when i get regular pap smears and when i got the biopsy. a friend of a friend had this done and was given some sedatives before the procedure. i asked my doctor about this, and she said she refused to give me any sedative drugs. has anyone else had this done? and did you use sedatives??
