Fibroid Sarcoma

I have been on this board for almost two years as I was going through treatment for oralpharyngeal cancer (cancer of right tonsil).  Everyone one here became my family, my coaches, and my hope.  I in turn have tired to repay those who were there for me by being there for others.  My scans are now showing I am cancer free.

Shortly after my treatment ended, my brother was diagnosed with fibroid sarcoman.  He had surgery to remove a tumor in his upper arm and then underwent underwent radiation treatment.  That was a year ago.  He has check-ups every three months and a recent scan showed a tumor in the lung behind his heart.  We were all frightened but now the doctors say it was there a year ago and while it has grown a slight bit but they will keep a close watch on it.

We would be so appreciative if anyone could give us any information regarding fibrous sarcoma as we have had little luck finding data on it?

Hi

What type of Fibroid dose your brother have?

I have a Dermo Fibroid that was removed from my left thigh in 01.

Now currently have Fibroids to right lung. Also have fibroid tissue in nodes. Your are correct there isnt much information about this on the web.  According my my dr in Sloan its rare

1-4 percent chance to go to lungs. I would seriously get a second opion on this if i was your brother.  I dont know if your brothers  are slow growing such as mine are.

Currently im being treated with gleevc to shrink mine.  I wouldnt just sit around and do a wait and see.  My Dr thinks mine were in my lung for about 6yrs.  If its small seek treatment now.  See a dr that specializes in sarcoma treatments.  They are rare types of cancer.
