My cousin was diagnosed with CML about two years ago. He is in his mid-thirties now. We just learned that the Gleevac that had given us so much hope is no longer doing the trick and his doctors have told him he will require a bone marrow transplant.
Please excuse my ignorance but we have no experience with this. Has anyone else seen Gleevac fail? What does the transplant entail? Can I be a donor? What other options might he have?
Any and all information you can provide would be appreciated.
