I am a fairly new friend of my teen sons landlord who two years ago hurt his leg and at the site grew a huge tumor. It was removed although he wanted to have the leg amputated above the site. The Dr. said no. Two years later the pain in his neck/head/back was so severe nothing would touch the pain until they did a surgery where rods were placed in his neck/spine. The spine was so spongy/gel they put the rods around head in a halo. They said if his head should fall any way but staying in this halo it would snap his neck and be paralyzed. I am not sure of the name but from all he has said it seems to be a sarcoma as it is iin his bones and /or tissues all over. Is there any hope for him> Where does a normal lay person go when theyve been told 3-6 months??? He wants to try anything that may save his life. I feel so helpless. Is there a specialist on these cases in Illinois? What about Mangosteen juice?He is mostly alone and I go over everyday with a meal and to keep him company. I dont know what to do for him. Im pretty sure he has good insurance.Any advice? Can someone bounce back from cancer this severe? Shouldnt they be giving him chemo and or radiation? Time is of the essence. Please hurry and help.
