My 75 year old father has Hormone Refractory Prostate Cancer. He was on Hormone Therapy but that has failed for the third time. His Last Pet scan in January 2009 revealed a spot on his abdomin Limpnode and a minute spot on his left Lung. A biopsy of the limpnode revealed prostate cancer. His PSA was at 49 in January, 41 in Fevruary and 44 in March. Dr said Chemo is the next step. Has anyone used the Budwig diet in this situation?  I do not want my father to start Chemo Just yet, what does user community recommend for this situation ?  Please help

John:

I believe that for men with small amounts of slow growing cancer that the Budwig diet followed with religion can provide some time before further treatment. I have seen it work for two men is such situations. For a man in the situation your father finds himself there is less evidence of success. Any diet that is vegetarian, low cholesterol, low fat will likely have a small positive effect on the condition of anyone. Is it enough to make a difference for you father? Only he can say.

I have advancer prostrate cancer Im on the bugwig diet for prostrate cancer. I found out flack seed oil no good for the prostrate due to the process they use to get the oil out of the seeds So I us a coffee grinder and grind up Two table spoons of flack seeds  add this to  two table spoones of cotage cheese then I mix this with soy milk and a bit of art/sweeter just rember you cant have sugary foods, any form of cows milk, except cheese, you cant have  fruit or fruit juice if your on this as well. Chemo will work as long as he takes vitamin D3 I saw a video  were a prostrate cancer patient was given chemo and and taking vitamin 150g of vitamin d3 a day  he took 5g and hour  with it and it stops Alopecia that’s your heir falling out and protects your nerves and origin from damage from the chemo and it weakens the cancer so the chemo has more effect.

patients  have been know to reduce there PSA to all most a PSA of 0.1 by having a treatment of very large dose of vitamin D and chemotherapy to  together

so as you can see vitamins like vitamin A vitamin C and vitamin D can help with the fight with prostrate cancer

There another  treatment is called Provenge (APC8015) and is manufactured by Dendreon Corp. of Seattle. Provenge is called a vaccine, but unlike most vaccines, it is used not to prevent illness but to treat an already existing condition. The vaccine combines a protein that is found in most prostate cancer cells with a substance that helps the immune system recognize the cancer as a threat. In clinical trials, Provenge was well tolerated: the most common adverse events that were reported were fever and chills lasting for one to two days.

The vaccine is autologous in nature. That is, it is produced from the patient's own cells and must be custom made for each patient individually. First, patients have their blood run through a machine for two or three hours in order to extract certain immune system cells, called antigen presenting cells (APCs). These cells are then mixed with a protein called prostatic acid phosphatase (PAP) that is commonly found on most prostate tumors. The PAP is fused with another immune-stimulating substance called GM-CSF. The mixture is then returned to the patient in a one-hour infusion. This process is repeated three times over the course of a month. The basic idea is to alert the immune system that cells containing prostatic acid phosphatase, (i.e., prostate cancer cells) should now be attacked as if they were a foreign invader.
