My daughter has non hodkins lymphoma anaplastic large cell

I was told by some G P s and nutritonists, that she should completly avoid dairy and meat products.

I was also told that she should go on a product called 4-life transfer factor which is cows colostrom in capsule form. To help the cancer not spread due to chemo and radio etc...

Our oncolgists and some other G P s say no way and ignore all this.

But both are so firm that they are correct.

Who do I believe,

Can someone please help

Gina

Please trust your oncologist.  Sometimes supplements can actually prevent the chemo drugs and/or radiation treatments from working. My husband had non hodgkins lymphoma of his brain and had chemo and radiation.  He did not take any supplements and has been cancer free for 20 months now.  I would trust the oncologist and not take this supplement. Good luck.

Hi Gina....I can certainly understand your confusion since there is so much conflicting information out there. I have never done any research on cow's colostrum nor has it ever been recommended for me by my naturopath or medical doctor as part of my natural protocol for treating the non Hodgkin's that I was diagnosed with in early 2004, but that is not to say it might not be a good choice. I guess my best advice to you would be to do all the research you can on the pros and cons and then make your own informed decision. I can tell you that NO DAIRY is part of the regimen I continue to followed and the reason for the NO MEAT recommendation is probably for the same reasons......contaminations with pesticides, herbicides, diseases including bovine leukemia etc. etc. I do eat small amounts of free range organic beef and chicken occasionally and fish several times a week and since I follow part of the Budwig protocol I also use several tablespoons of organic cottage cheese daily but that's it for dairy.................... I have a link with very good information re the dangers of dairy consumption. I have to warn you it is rather graphic but something that we all need to be aware of..................http://www.freedomofhealth.org/health_articles/milk_1.html ........................I have a video presentation by Dr. John McDougall on the same subject but since I can't attach it here let me know via private message if you'd like me to send it along. I'd also be glad to share a copy of the Regimen, diet, supplementation information, alternative treatment, etc. that worked so well to bring me back to good health............Please pass along my good wishes to your daughter.........Sheila _____________________________________________________________

You have to ask yourself, is there any possible harm in the advice?  If not you should strongly consider following it.   Avoiding milk and red meats just seems like a good idea with all the hormones they give the animals.  If you want her to have dairy, consider something like yogurt which has been pre-digested by yeast.  Personally, as soon as I found out I might have cancer I stopped eating red meat.  Now that I know I have cancer I have switched to soy milk and removed processed sugars & honey from my diet.  In the end I know it won't hurt me, so with the possibility it might help save my life I consider it a smart choice.

Now a harder question would be what about layatril?  The arsenic is locked in, so taking a small dosage to prevent cancer probably makes sense.  What is the harm in a few apricot pits each day on your salad?   But if you have cancer, the cancer cells break down the layatril.  That kills the cancer cell (good), but then some of the arsenic ends up in the blood stream (bad).  Is it a wise idea to take large amounts layatril to fight cancer?  Probably not if you have any other treatment options available.  There are people who swear layatril saved their lives, and others who claim it will kill you from arsenic poisoning.   Who do you believe?
