anyone tell me why they can't do a limited excision on a very small affected area 1/8" or so?

Forgot to ask the doctor about that.

Seems strange to have to cut or nuke the whole thing?

I know they cant do it with an RP. But I think you  can  do it  with eaither HIFU or mirowaves Prostrat cancer treatments but if you want you could be able to get your PSA down by just takeing 160mg of Red clover and a large amount of saw palemtto each day  like I do. Whats your PSA like

Prostate cancer is different to some other cancers in that it is not necessarily  limited to the one suspect section of the gland, and  the full extent of the cancer is often not known for sure until after it is removed and examined.

To a limited extent some  treatment options like the HIFU mentioned are currently used in a basic way to treat the suspected affected areas. Unlike surgery, HIFU is a less invasive treatment that can be repeated if necessary.

This could well be a future way, but for now it is not a generally vaiable option to treat just one suspect section of the prostate.
