my father has PC and several months ago had a lot of back pain, thankfully his pain pills helped and most likely the bypass surgery he had also, he is now on a 72-hour pain patch, be sure to tell your doctor about your back pain so you can receive the necessary pain medication

God Bless

I'm very sorry that your back pain is getting worse.I began to experience back pain when my hormone therapy had run its course. Bone scans did reveal metastases in the lower back and hips. At that point, I began chemo (taxotere). Within about 1 month, the back pain had disappeared and my PSA had dropped significantly.

I hope you have an oncologist who can have the necessary tests performed to identify the next course of action for you.

Back pain can also be a sign of osteoporosis which is connected with prostate cancer. Apparently, men with prostate cancer are more and likely  going to experience some osteoporosis. In my case it is in the small of my back and I take a drug to increase the bone density and stop the progression of the osteoporosis.

Hi Aldostl you got me thinking I have advance prostrate cancer since 2007. I tried to have my prostrate removed with robotic surgery. The doctors told me at 300lbs I was just to over weight to for them to do it.

When I read your post I thought it strange that most of my pain comes from the areas around my prostrate.  I had a pain in my back for a long time. As well as a perennial fisher in my anus I had  perennial fisher fixed. But I still cant eat bread as it plays up with my colon. I still have the back pain. A few month after I was diagnose with prostrate cancer and was told by my doctors that they couldn’t help me. A scan found secondary cancer Mets in my bones in my Lower back and a few of my ribs. .My doctor at the time told me chemo dos not work on prostrate cancer. I know now it will work in about 40% of prostrate cancer cases if one goes on high Dose vitamin D3 a dose of 150,000ui a day. He wanted to put me on hormone treatment but I was so devastated. I said no.  After seeing a naturopath and a year of alternative therapy (because that the only treatment I had left to go on). My doctor sent me to have another bone scan. What the scan found to me was some thing amazing. The bone cancer was gone, but I still had cancer in my prostrate. My doctor told me no alterative treatment works on bone cancer. Well what happen to it  he said it just happens that way  some times. I said yeah right. Now this is what I wanted to talk to you about the pain in my back I’ve had for 10 years long before I had prostrate cancer. It all most crippled me I lost my $180,000 a year business my house and the good life I once had know.   The only help I found with my bad back was with having physiotherapy for the back pain. I was told  the simples and  best way for you to find out if it just you  back playing up is, with an exercises, of pushing your bellbottom to the back of your spine, with out tightening your stomach mussels, she said  if you can feel your back mussels your find. I was told the reason we have back problems is the mussels in our back get weak, and there out of balance. So for years I did the exercises, and it seem to work to a degree. I’ve since found it only when I started treating my prostrate did my back pain get better. It dos not ache any were near as much as before and it seem to be a lot stronger now as I said I just think it strange that all my pain my prostrate my anus my back was around that area take care Ray
