Anyone know of any supplement which should not be taken along with Tarceva, that could lower it's potency?
Despite what your oncologist might tell you, there is no scientific evidence that taking any vitamins while on Tarceva; will interfere with the treatment. There is good clinical evidence that antioxidants taken during chemotherapy will help to decrease the side effects of chemo, and be beneficial for improved survival.
My husband was diagnosed with stage 4 non small cell cancer over 2 years ago. He has been on Tarceva since. He has been taking lots of vitamins from the beginning, including Melatonin 6mg at bedtime. Melatonin improves the immune system.
Let me know if you need to know more in details what supplements you should be taking. Also do not underestimate the importance of eating a good balanced diet. Fat is very important, along with vegetables, fruit grains, and proteins.
Good luck.
