okay, so i have never done any of these message boards and my question is a little embarassing and may be too much info for some of you. However, it is after hours and unfortunately my doctors office does not have a nurse on call.  I just had a leep procedure 3 days ago and I know it is common to have odd discharge afterwards, however, I just used the restroom and lost a single large thin piece of tissue, larger than a fist and am very concerned.  I am sorry to those of you who may be affended, but am extremely grateful for anyone who can offer any advice!?? thanks!

Hi,

I have had a Leep before and I my bleeding and super weird discharge didn't start for awhile after the procedure, in fact, way longer than I expected.

Anyway, I posted a question on here a few days ago so I keep checking in. In the meantime, I have become a Google Master! - looking for answers. I recently saw an article referring to something like you are describing called an " eschar ", a kind of a scab of cells of the cervix sloughing off 5-10 days postop. Though I didn't see the size of yours indicated it might be a term worthy of your search Try looking that up while you wait for an anwer.

Take care~

What kind of tissue is it? Is it clotting? Is it blood? Does it just look like s scab? Did you doctor give you any kind of infomation about what to expect? Please don't hesitate to contact the doctor's office.

As an fyi, your doctor was required to inform you of any possible complications before you signed the paperwork. So, if you were not thoroughly educated about the LEEP, please get another doctor, immediately, for your follow-up care.
