RE: Scared and Unsure what is going on...

Hello dcmomma,It seems like 3 weeks is a long time to wait for something, doesn't it? Are there any other tests that can be done? CT scan? PET scan? How about a CA125? It's a simple blood test. I hope you aren't in constant pain. I know from experience that the unknown can make you feel other symptoms which are nothing. Contact your doctor or another doctor for some answers and assurances. Good luck, and get back to us on this. And, remember, many women survive years with ovarian cancer.donna gayle

Scared and Unsure what is going on...

I was rushed to the emergency room 2 weeks ago and a simple follicle cyst and UTI were discovered. Ever since then, I have been all the horrible symptoms including full abdomen, gas, abdomen pain, etc.I met with an oncologist right a way to make sure it is nothing more. I have a laproscopic procedure scheduled in 3 weeks. My issue - I am scared as hell. I had a friend that passed away from ovarian cancer at 33. I am 33.I am having horrible cramps, pains in my leg, joint pain, etc.I just worry that the ultrasound that found the cyst is distracting professionals from finding something more. Is that possible? My other issue is that I have been taking birth control for a year now - after the birth of my son and I breastfed him for a year. Any encouraging words would be helpful.
