Hi I just wanted to let everyone out there fighting this dreadful disease about the surgeon who has cut ALL of the cancer out of my dad.
My Dad had one unsuccessful op - we were told that there was no way that the tumor could be removed - that it was too close to the vena cava - I was told that my dad had about 3 months to live, things were pretty grim.
We then took my Dad to see Prof Williams in London (who looks after George Best)who reccomended Prof Peter Lodge, based in Leeds (at St Mary's Hospital, LEEDS, England) - he operates aggresively on liver tumors and tackles cases that most surgeons will not touch (even Yuman Fong at the Sloan Kettering was reluctant to operate). He has removed ALL the cancer - the operation was very complex apparantely the tumor had pushed through the diaphragm and stuck to one of the lungs (thanks to the ablation used in the first op - I do not reccomend ablation.)
My Dad is at home now recovering from the op - he is doing really well. Prof Lodge will review scans if anyone out there wants his opinion..
I wish everyone out there the best in the fight.. never give up, there are people out there who can help.
Jules
