My mom (57) was dx 8/08 with Stage IV Endometrial Cancer that metastatised in her liver, lungs, brain, and bones. Currently she is on the 10th day of her hospital stay because of extreme weakness and pain from the bone metastatis around her hips.
Her oncologist came to see us tonight and basically let us know that she has less then 6 months because her body is too weak from radiation, he's afraid to do any chemo for a few weeks until she can get stronger, get her blood and platelet count up. By the time he'll be able to try a new chemo he's afraid that the cancer will just continue to spread.
So what I'm looking at now is different options. Me and my dad don't know if she'll want to continue fighting. She is on some strong pain killers so we haven't had a chance to talk with her. Now I'm looking at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America. Probably their location in Chicago. Anyone have any experience with them?
