I am not wanting to sound like an awful person about this but my husband has 4th satge metastisized colon cancer and was wondering if anyone knew if anything other than pain because he has none and is worried that he possibly might not have any and what else could happen. Will there always be a lot of pain or not?

This is a question I have too. My Dad has had colon cancer (stage 4)for 3 years. 3 years ago he had surgery and Fu5 chemo. He was clear for 2 years and then found it had spread to his lungs and liver and spine. He has never had any real pain - except he still suffers pain from the lung biopsy surgery he had 10 months ago. He is progressively getting weaker and a little confused at times. He has been on chemo this time for 10 months and will have to stay on it the rest of his life to keep the growths from growing bigger. I just dont know what to expect. All the sudden this week he cant walk with out a walker - and he was walking fine - and cant make it to the bathroom. I am not sure if this is something temporary or not. He got weak like this for a week 2 months ago - but had a bad infection and had to be hospitalized. He seemed to be doing much better until now. The doctor doesnt seem to worried - so I am wondering if this is to be expected.
