Iv had a mole on the nose, on my outer nostril since childhood. It had always been a black spot. not too big. but now it has become 3D. its like a ball sticking out of my nostril. still not very big in size.

No mole should be taken lightly. GEt it checked. a "3D Mole" is definitely cause for concern.

Did it become 3D only recently?

Thats right. If it has become big only recently than its defnitely cause for concern. Even otherwise. Get it checked.

I have a mole on my....um, upper UPPER leg...in a...well, a secret spot lol I've had it since I was a kid (I'm a gay, I don't know why "caregiver" showed me as a female). Mine has always been changing shape, but then again, it depends on friction. If I hit the treadmill hard, it'll kind of morph around, but it goes back to normal if I "leave it alone". Best thing to do is to go see dermatologist. They're pretty knowledgeable about moles.

The ABC's of mole irregularity

Assymetry-if the right side is not the same as the left side and the top the same as the bottom

Border-if it is jagged

Color-if it contains more than 1 color

Dimensions-if the size changes

These are Definate reasons to have it looked at but more importantly if you were concerned enough to post on here you should get it checked!  The best course is to make sure that it is nothing if it isn't and to catch it early if it is!

When you see a doctor/dermatologist I strongly encourage you to be PROACTIVE. I had 3 doctors including a dermatologist tell me the mole on my right arm was "Nothing to Worry" about.

Later I was diagnosed with and treated for Stage IV metastasized melanoma. I was given a less than 5% chance of surviving 6 months. That was in the year 2000. Miracles do still happen but it might not have been necessary had one of the doctors done a simple biopsy.
