Hi Everbody !

All my positive energy and prayers are with you !

My Dad is being defeated by exhaustion. I cannot tell if it is the disease or the Torisel ,or a combo of the two. His bloodwork does not look that bad ( for someone so far advanced with metastatic renal cell carcinoma ). This exhaustion is causing him to give up fighting and we are losing ground fast .....I will not try to force him to live through the pain just so I can be with him longer , I love him ,  and I want him to go when he is ready ....but I know he wants to stay a bit longer, but the exhaustion has taken his will away.

Has anyone out there had any success battling the exhaustion ?

Will Drugs work ????...speed , ??? Iron shots and transfusions do not seem to help ( his hemoglobin count is around 10 ).

Please help . Thanks , Steve

Hi - I am so sorry you and your dad are going through this awful battle.  My husband is suffering from exhaustion also.  The Dr. tells him to exercise everyday even if it is just for a short walk.  I am giving him liquid vitamins through his PEG tube.  Nothing seems to be helping at this time.  It is difficult to make him exercise when he feels so bad.  Our Dr. told us it is a vicious cycle - he is tired so he just sits around which in turn makes him even more tired.  They say it will just take time; it is very difficult on the patient but also on the caregiver.  Stay positive and strong, pray daily, and never never give up hope.

Good Luck and God Bless You!
