What happened???

I just had a cole knife cone biopsy 9 days ago.  I also had my uterus scraped and whatever else they do, because they were sure I had uterine cancer .... That test came back CLEAR. I told them I didn't have uterine cancer, but this proves it !!!  Also, half of my cervix is gone now.

Just this week, they called  and I've found they ignored taking out a high grade grandular lesion consistent with adenocarcinoma in situ...because they say I have to have an oncologist do that surgery, which they are advocating a total historectomy including lymph nodes, etc.

I don't think this is necessary, at this time.....Why don't they remove the in situ and keep a watchful eye on me???

I honestly can't withstand any more poking, probing, scraping, cutting, burning...I had a heart attack 3 weeks ago from the stress of this wonderful disease.....Thanks to my straying dog of an ex husband !!!

I seriously don't think I'll survive anymore serious surgeries.....Has anyone gone through this???

Fire your doctor, immediately! It doesn't sound that your case has been handled very well, at all. If you have AIS, you should have been sent directly to a GYN/ONC, who would have done a cold knife cone biopsy, correctly, to further diagnos how extensive it was and to hopefully remove the AIS. If your doctor did a cone biopsy that completely missed this, what on earth was removed? The purpose of surgery is to remove abnormalities, not just take out random tissue and then tell you the real cause was left there. At this point, you may have to report the doctor and the clinic to the medical board. To do all that surgery and not address the real issue is seriously and irresponsibly jeopardizing your life. In addition, your doctor just made a lot of money from you for nothing. Now he wants to send you to one of his colleagues to make more money off you.

Before your agree to something as extreme as a hysterectomy, make sure you really need one and make sure the new doctor goes over all your options so that the correct choice is made. Get copies of all your lab reports and check to see what you actually had. This will tell you how badly your case was mishandled.
