Hello my name is Sharon, My mom was diagnosed with granulosa cell tumar in 1997. after a couple of surgeries, kemo and radiation they told us they had gotten all the cancer. in 2006 she noticed a lump on her jaw. when they tested it it came back as the same cancer. they did a very aggressive radiation that did not really help. as the tumar grew it actually broke her jaw so they went in and removed the section of bone where it was. she also had two tumars in her pelvic area, they didnt do anything about those because they wanted to get her jaw taken care of first. she has been slowly going down hill ever since. then about two weeks ago she started having severe pains in her abdoman. the test showed that the two had merged together and a third had developed and was attaching to her belly wall. they dont think she is strong enough to go through surgery and heal.
they are talking about avastin, it is now to the point we are getting scared at what is to come next.
if anyone has any advice or knows anything about this drug please let me know. I am sorry if I am rambling. I have never posted anything like this before.
