What is low grade dysplasia?

I just got back my first set of  test results from the PAP I got a month ago.  Understanding the results at first were unclear to me.  (The paper I got was a sheet explaining the different results with mine highlighted)  But all the paper said was because I was under 20 that the virus would likely clear up on its own.  I want to know what exactly it is I have.  This paper did not clarify any of that enough for me.  Can someone please explain a bit more to me, please?

I just want to know if i should worry or not...

If your doctor did not educate you about this, please get another, immediately! I'll give you some links to help you, but I'm going to tell you what I always tell women, which I wish I had done before I got bullied into the surgery the doctor preferred.

1. Look at the lab report, It will tell you exactly what you have.

2. Make your doctor give you a full description of what you have, where it's located, how many cervical quadrants are involved, if it's in the endocervical canal, and if it's in the endocervical glands.

3. Don't let the doctor talk you into surgery until you have thoroughly educated yourself not only about your condition but about all your treatment options - cryosurgery, laser, LEEP, and cold knife cone biopsy. This is a requirement, and I'm alarmed by the number of doctors who don't follow regulations. At your age, mild dysplasia, and per the ACOG, moderate dysplasia has a very high chance of regressing, which is why that organizations cautions doctors to be conservative in their approach. But you need to be fully educated so that what you decide to do is informed.

I'm first going to give you links to help you understand what you have. On some of the websites, you just have to click on the various links to maneuver around for information.

This is an older site, but the information is so concise, I like it.

This is one of the few doctors who wants his patients to be educated. I wish all doctors followed his example.

Right now, there is a lot you can do to boost your immune system so taht your body's immune system will be strong, again, to clear up the infection. I'll give you links with some information.

There is also the cervical_dysplasia group onYahoo. The woman who set up the group worked with a naturopathic doctor she found, after she read about Dr. Tori Hudson's work.
