I'm posting one year post op from my nephrectomy. I went in today to review my 1 yr. CT scan with the urologist. He noted a small (5-6mm) section on the scar tissue where the cancerous kidney was removed. I'm feeling great and getting along fine.
Admittedly this took the wind out of my sails a little this morning. He's fairly confident that it isn't anything to worry about- but wants to check it out in 4 mos. to ensure it doesn't grow and to be on the safe side.
Anyone familiar with this? The report from the radiologist reads: "There is a small nodular focus of the tissue seen posteriorly in the nephrectomy bed measuring 6mm in diameter. This may also represent a focus of scarring."
Other kidney checked in fine.
Anyway- I've laid off the boards for many months but seek counsel once again from the many friends that offered great encouragement and knowledge to me and my family a year ago....
Thanks,
Dennis
