Using baking soda to absorb the odor is a great idea, but it takes some time to work.
An alternative is to get some oil of wintergreen, or if you can't find it, oil of spearmint or peppermint or cloves will do. Put a few drops on a couple of cotton balls and place in a small bowl in the room. Make sure to place it well away from pets and/or children as very concentrated amounts of these oils can be poisonous if ingested. Replace the cotton balls with fresh cotton and oil as needed.
There is an excellent cleaning product called OdoBan that is used by many institutions that deal with odors, including veterinary clinics that commonly deal with the odors of feces and urine and blood. The only place I know to get it is at Sam's Club, but the web site has a product locator that shows the stores that sell it (you have to scroll down on the product locator page)

It only takes a very small amount in a bucket of hot water to clean surfaces and remove odors. I use it to clean my cats litter pans and any other obnoxious odor that comes about. I also use it in the washer if I've gotten something with strong odor on my clothes - It will even remove skunk odor from clothing.
Be sure to rinse surfaces thoroughly after cleaning with OdoBan - it's very concentrated.
Sincerely,
Tre
