Why are you quitting sutent and going to the nexavar?Sutent gave me a heart attack,so nexavar was my choice of medications.

Paul123- I was on Sutent for a year before it stopped working. Tried Torisel which worked but had an allergic reaction to it and my blood/sugar increased dramatically. My oncologist is talking about putting me on Nexavar. Things stayed pretty stable until March when my CT scan showed rapid growth in 2 tumors in my left upper lobe of my lung. The oncologist decided to use radiation on the 2 tumors which are very close together. Have not talked to him since the new drug Afinitor was approved at the end of March. This drug may be another option for you. Have you tried Torisel? A lot of peiople have had good results with minimal side effects. Let me know how the side effects with nexavar compare to Sutent.

The first medication they tried was Keppra for about 4 months (the side effects were terrible), They then put me on Zonegran and the side-effcts were even worse.  I am currently on Dilantin which is what I was on pre-surgery and for over 2 years post-op.

I was on Sutent for a little over 2 years before it quit working for me.  I think it stopped working because I had to reduce the dosage so much due to side effects that became unbearable.

I switched to Nexavar in December and had CT-scans in March.  The scans showed a little shrinkage in my lung tumors.  So I'll keep popping those pills.
