Hi,

My father in law is suffering from stage 4 stomach cancer spread to pancreas and to the peritoneum in the abdominal cavity. Due to the stomach cancer, he had obstructive jaundice, and hence a stent was placed in his biliary duct which reduced his jaundice considerably. But since he was vomiting loads of bile out, an NJ tube was inserted and he has been feeding through it.But since his general condition was not good, only one shot of cisplatin has been given and then he his on tablets xeloda. But past one day, he has started having blurry vision and watch things at a further distance. We are worried since we do not know how much time he has. It all started on 03/04/09 and it has worsened alot since then. Please anyone with same symptoms help us...We want his life to be at ease as much as we can do it....We want to know how much time he has???? And what can be blurry vision due to???

Varija, I'm sorry to hear about your Fa.in-law. I too have stage 4 stomach cancer and have had 10-12 chemos, no radiation, and currently it may have spread to my lungs. My new symptoms are now that I feel "woozy" in my head, not exactly dizzy or blurred vision, but it does seem to be associated with my vision. I haven't asked the doctor yet about it, but I haven't had chemo in 3 weeks! My body is uncoordinated, almost going at slow speed and not really my own body anymore it seems. I am also weak and can barely dress myself due to neuropathy on fingers and toes and hands etc. These drugs are really strong! Hope things improve for your family and your father in law. Jeanne
