Hi there, I have Stage IV colon cancer also, but no noticable mets to liver or lungs yet, although my oncologist tells me that it could be there but not showing on CT scans yet. A friend of mine who I met through cancer also has stage IV colon cancer and DOES have mets to the liver and lungs. She throws up after most meals and has pain in her back. Your husband should definitely see his oncologist ASAP. Is he currently on chemo? I hate to say this, but the situation does not sound good. If he is not on chemo right now perhaps he should be on. My friend with liver and lung mets is in a clinical trial right now in Toronto. Where are you located? Please tell me more and perhaps I can help some. I'd be happy to correspond with you any time. Also, does your husband take any alternative medicine? Hugs and prayers are with you, Jen

My husband is on chemo but at this time he is on a two week off period. He has had Avastin and a couple of other things and takes no medicine at home. He has been on all this since about May. He starts a new regimen on Monday Nov. 28. He has been very lucky and has not had any problems with any of his chemo except to be tired more. He talks to the girls in the chemo office all the time, when he has anything to ask them. He will call them today about all this. They will have him come in if they think he needs too. He is feeling better today. I do appreciate your answering my message. WE are in California, and he has one of the best Oncologist in our county.

....we had an awesome oncologist also...one that knew enough that when he had shrunk the liver mets enough, he sent us to the best liver surgeon in the country - Dr. David Geller - at UPMC in Pittsburgh...he was AMAZING and after resecting all the mets off of dad's liver, dad is cancer free....Pittsburgh is only a plane ride away if you need an AWESOME surgeon. Best of luck to you!!!
