Hi,

I posted two weeks about my dad's stage 4 stomach cancer. He is currently in the hospital undergoing chemo however, he was suppose to start radation as well. The tumor is bleeding and they cannot start radation while the tumor is bleeding. Also, my dad is not a candidate for surgery because it has mestasized, I think that's how you spell it. My father is also anemic and he keeps needing to get blood. Has anyone dealt with this? a large tumor that want stop bleeding.

I just got off the phone with him and I had to hang up because it was making me so sad. I want the tumor to stop bleeding so he can start radation to. This is horrible, I wish he was a candidate for surgery but he is not. Thanks.

Shanda -- I'm sorry to hear about your dad. I also had stage 4 stomach cancer, and radiation was not even recommended at all-- only chemotherapy. In fact the doctor said if radiation is used in conjunction with chemo, the chemo dose would have to be lessened ands he wanted me to get the most potent dose I could get of the chemo. I hope the tumor stops bleeding and they ccan proceed with whatever they are recommending. My kids are 21 and 23 and I worry about the parental support they still need from "Mom" even though they are grown. I am keeping really bad news and dire predictions from them because no one can know how long I have to live for sure and I don't want to distract them overly much from their own life tasks (both are in college). My prayers and thoughts are with you and your father. Jeanne

Hi Jeanne,

I am so sorry to hear about what you are going through as well. Cancer really sucks, my grandmother just died today from liver cancer. My dads tumor is still bleeding he is getting blood almost everyday we are very worried. Is your cancer in remission? it really helps to be able to talk to other people who understand what you are going through. I will pray for you !!!!!!
