Have Soft-tissue Sarcoma as Primary as Well as Lung Carsenoma

I was diagnosed with soft-tissue sarcoma in my right upper arm last July,. After undergoing 3 surgeries I am presently finishing up my 6 weeks of radiation treatments. However, while undergoing tests, they discovered I also had adenocarcenoma in my left lung. Both are primaries. I'm scheduled to enter the hospital for a possible resection of my lung Dec. 16th, which will only happen if the biopsies they take while 'on the table' do not show it has matastisized. I am scared to death. No one will tell me what this means if they can't remove the lung tumor. So far I've been very lucky not to have my arm amputated, but everything I read on the internet re lung cancer is extremely frightening. I am wondering if chemo and perhaps radiation is going to help at all. Any comments would be appreciated.

My experience may be of some help. April 2005 I had surgery which was a surprise that a tumor was found. Diagnosis was soft tissue sarcoma. Additional surgery was done in June. Radiation treatments followed. additional surgery was planned but x-rays showed that cancer had moved to lungs in about 20 cancerous nodules so surgery was cancelled. I had two treatments of adriomycin chemo and then more concentrated radiation. A scan proved that the adriomycin did not affect the cancer in the lungs. a more powerful chemo called ifosfamide was begun and now I have had 5 cycles. Each cycle is a week of all day treatment. A scan after 2 cycles showed significant shrinkage of the lung nodules. I take another next week and am scheduled for a 6th cycle of ifosfamide starting 15 May. My assumption is the medics have a variety of chemos and have to try to find out what works in each person's case. Best of luck.

Reading your situation gave me a ray of hope.

I was recently diagnosed of high grade myxofibrosarcoma at my hip. I worry very much of spreading. The last CT chest scan showed 3 very small (3 to 6mm) non-calcified nodule but the radiologist can only say they of "of indeterminate". How can they be further examined for more definitive answer? Any suggestion of where I might get better help?
