Essiac Tea and Flax Seed Oil

Hi there, Does any one know if essiac tea and flax seed oil can be taken between chemo cycles? My dad is on CPT-11 for his colon cancer, which has spread to his abdomen area and lungs. He will take chemo infusion one day and he will have 3 weeks until the next chemo. Our naturopath says it is OK between treatments, but will not recommend day before, on the day and day after an infusion. Robert

My doctor tells me the same thing with any detox type medicines like Essiac. Even with vitamin C, he tells me to go off it the day before, the day of, and the day after chemo. The Essiac, being a detoxifier, will get rid of the chemo before the chemo has had a chance to do it's job ... this is the reason for not taking it DURING treatment. Jen

How are you doing? I read your other post and learn that your cancer metasized to abdominal wall. Same case I my dad's. Same prognosis. What kind of chemo are you taking? Are you getting any obstructons, pain? Do you take any solid food. I would like you to share some info with me.
